REMOVING UNDERCOATING FROM INTERIOR SURFACES

It happens to the best installers, no matter how careful you are occasionally a spot of undercoating will get on an interior component like the cloth seats or carpet.

First don’t panic and grab a towel and start “rubbing” the spot. This will only smear the product and make it worse.

The best product in your arsenal to remove undercoating from cloth is the VG-103 ValuGard Solvent Fabric Protector.

The solvents that are used in this product are of course safe to use on interiors and make an excellent spot remover for undercoat, grease and other petroleum-based stains.

First spray or pour a small amount of the fabric protector directly on the spot and allow it to start to break down the under coating, then using a clean terry cloth towel gently “dab” at the spot without rubbing. Continue to spray and dab the spot using a clean part of the towel until it is removed. Depending on the amount of undercoating this may take awhile. It can also be used on the hard surfaces.

Unlike other solvents the fabric protector will not leave a strong solvent odor inside the vehicle. Other types of solvents may also damage the interior.

Got dried gum in the carpet? Spray it with the fabric protector let it dry completely, then simply brush it with a stiff bristle brush and vacuum out the dust!
