Automotive International – Stopping vehicle rust and corrosion for 50 years!

Discover the Ways ValuGard Protects a Wide Array of Trailers

At ValuGard we know that trailers don’t just stay in the area where they are purchased or manufactured but travel all over the country.     Trailers, just like vehicles, are encountering more corrosion issues than they were maybe 15 years ago.  The ValuGard team recognizes this and knows much of this is from the liquid de-icing brines used on the roads.   At ValuGard, we have a wide range of solutions to help protect every area of your trailer frame / body.

Many of the areas susceptible include cross-members, siderails, cross-rails, upright posts / skeleton of trailer body, tongue frame and areas exposed to UV rays.

Factors our customers consider important when selecting protective coatings:

  • Wide selection of water-based and solvent-based formulas to choose from. Our most popular formulas used on trailers are Water-based (VG240 and VG875) and Solvent-based (VG190)
  • Wide selection of salt spray endurance in the formulas to align costs and margins with a needed performance specification.
  • Not just undercoating but also our VG-101 Mil Spec Cavity Rust Inhibitor for cavities, tubes along trailer frames (complete protection both inside and out!)
  • Specifications to meet needs for VOC footprint, proper container size to fit spray system, dry time AND coverage ability to fit production needs
  • Ability to ship materials all over the country for consistent supply all-year around.
  • Product testing specific to Magnesium and Calcium Chloride - there are lots of anti-corrosion products available, however, to ensure the products chosen meet the expectations of your customers: it is best to demonstrate testing against brines – not just rock salt.
  • ISO registered supplier - ensures that there is a consistency in the quality of the products supplied to your trailer fleet maintenance operations
  • Products have achieved MVP status with the National Truck Equipment Association
  • In your fleet / inventory, do you have trailers with multiple types of surfaces (like wood, Styrofoam/foamboard) along with metal skeleton? Consider our VG-76 Undercoating with Hybrid Technology. This formula has ability to cover and adhere to multiple surface types and delivers a proven 1200+ hours resistance against liquid de-icing brines. This means you do not have to use multiple applications on different surfaces, this formula is your All-In-One!
  • Powder coating trailer surfaces does augment protection somewhat against corrosion; however, it does not hold up under extensive multi-year exposure to the liquid de-icing brines. Our coatings are tested and PROVEN to resist these brines found throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest and Canada! Ask us for more details about our product testing.

Ask about our specialty application - VG875 - designed to protect livestock trailers from corrosive nature of droppings and urine.

VG-875 is UV stable formula that can protect trailer tongues and triangle tongue frame from corrosion
